Weekend Recap

After my foot flaring up early last week, I put off all running and cardio until Saturday morning.  I woke up Saturday and, of course, it was raining.  Well, I didn't let that stop me.  I ran in the rain and it was wonderful!  I just love running in the rain.  Anyway, I ran the farthest that I have run in almost 4 years . . . 5 miles in 57 minutes.  No, it isn't the fastest pace on the planet but I did it and I felt great afterwards.

After the run, I got cleaned up and went grocery shopping.  This may come as a huge shock to you because as much as I love to cook (check out my cooking blog here), I HATE grocery shopping.  I have even tried to simplify it by having a shopping list ready but I still hate it.  Add to it that I have to drive 20+ miles to get to a Whole Foods for meat and organic produce then go to a regular grocery store for some of the other things, it just makes it into one big headache.  I also had to go buy Costco to get diapers and that was a BIG MISTAKE.  I forgot they Costco is sampling tons of food and so there were 50 people standing around in the aisles just to get a little bite of a cracker with some cheese spread on it.  Ugh!  I just wanted to go on Michael Douglas on them in Falling Down.

So, fast forward 3 HOURS and I finally get back home and unload the groceries just in time to pack up the kiddos to take to my mom's for the night.  We handed the kids over, drove home, pulled in the garage, looked down and I had forgotten to give her the diaper bag!  So, my kids had no clothes to change into for bedtime, no toothbrushes, and Caleb had no diaper and NO FRIEND!!  (Luckily, I guess he did ok without it for the night).

After the babies were gone, we got all dressed up and headed out to our friends' (Missy and Kevin) wedding.  Scott was the dj and we had a great time.

We headed to the casino after the wedding and I was invited to ride with the bridal party in the huge limo.  We had so much fun and won $80. Woot!

I got up early yesterday morning and spent some time reflecting on 9/11 and the lives lost.

Then, I got started on making chili and got ready for a day hanging out with friends.  Need a couple of chili recipes?

How was your weekend?
